Mother Hope Hello! Thank you for creating this website.

While I got off cheap, I was still scammed out of $180.00, which I really couldn't afford at this time.

I went to the Astrology Readings business on Rt. 22 in Greenbrook, as I was looking for the entertainment of having my fortune read for what I assumed would only be ten to twenty-five dollars.

The psychic told me her name was "Mother Hope" but it may have actually been Sister Faye or Cynthia. She was in her late 50's or early 60's, and reminded me of my grandmother, so I was too trusting. She did a quick tarot reading, and even though I knew the deck was stacked to read a certain way I was still conned.

She told me that she saw a darkness that was blocking any chance of happiness, love, monetary fortunes. She also mentioned that I should be earning $110,000 a year. She mentioned at this moment that she could do my astrological charts for $145; at this moment I told her that I didn't have that amount. So this is where the con gets going; she tells me at first that she will take whatever I have in cash in my wallet, minus a few loose singles. So I hand over the first $80, I had already given her $25 for the full lifetime reading. She tells me that I can ask two questions. After the two questions she tells me to bring in an additional $55 dollars, I had thought that she was cutting me a break, but I agree to this as at this point I am believing that there a darkness surrounding my life, and after the bad year that I have had it almost sounds possible.

She tells me to call her the next day; when I call her she tells me to call her that evening; when I call Monday morning, she tells me that I should call her later in the day. She tells that she has found something out already and that she needs to see me that night When I get there, I sit down with her and she tells me that I have take blue thread and cut it into seven pieces of 8 inch length wrap it in a white napkin and place it in a white envelope.

So I go to the store and I purchase the supplies which total around $10.00. I then call her at 9PM as she told me to do and her daughter tells me that she had an emergency church meeting. As per her direction I am to call her every morning as she needs to hear my voice so I call her Tuesday morning. She asks me if I bought everything and did what she directed me to do. I tell her that I did and she tells me to come that night. When I get there she has me sit down and she tells me that the negativity in my life started at conception; she would have to pray and meditate for me, and that it will be very hard work to lift the negativity as it the darkness was very strong, and that it was standing between my health, and the health of my family. She also mentioned that health was the most important thing in life. She also asked for me to reconfirm that I believed health was the most important thing, I agreed.

So she opened the envelope and took out the blue threads, and she took a bunch and tied them and had me throw them away from myself to try to cast away the evil spirits, and then she had me tie three knots into one of the threads and then she placed it into the envelope, I am sure that she did a switch at that point. She told me to sleep with the envelope placed between the mattress and the box-spring. I did this for four nights. I also call her every morning; she even gave me another number as she would not be in her place of business for a few days. She tells me to come come see her Saturday morning. When I come see her she asks me about my social life, she seems very unhappy that I have a full social life and very little time to see her. She mentions that I need to slow my life down if we are ever going to remove this darkness. (I.E. Stop seeing my friends.)

So she tells me that this negativity is very strong and she is not sure if it started with my mother or grandmother or even further down the line. She also mentions that this has put a strain on myself and more importantly the love, health, luck and happiness of my family. At this point we say a prayer in which she has me make a promise to god that I will do whatever it takes to remove these evil spirits from my family.

She tells me that if we open the envelope and the knots are still there that she will not be able to help me, but if two or one are still there she can help, but it will take alot of work for my family's sake. We open the envelope and the thread was in a ball, and it should have been in a straight line, it was also missing two of the three knots. So we say another prayer to God, and she has me promise that I will do whatever she "sister" says to do to remove the evil.

At this point she opens a catalog, and shows me a Gold Plated box that was listed for $6900.00, and about 20 candles that were listed for $120 - 160 a piece. Mother Hope tells me that her cost is roughly $8900.00 (I don't even ask what it would cost me.)

She then mentions that the "church" would need to perform a ritual that evening as I was in imminent danger. I tell her that I don't have that kind of money. She tells me that she sees an account that is accruing interest, and that I should be totally honest with her because god is listening to us. I tell her that someone must be hiding it from me as I know nothing of any money in the bank.

She then asks if I can take a cash advance on my credit cards for the $8900.00. I tell her no, and she then asks once again if I am being totally honest as god is listening to us. I tell her yes, that I closed my cards, as I purchased too much and I want to pay them off. She then asks what I purchased with the cards, she wants to know everything, as it is possible I may have something to trade in the place of money, I tell her nothing really that important. She was not pleased with that answer. She says that I must have bought something of value. I tell her I bought a treadmill, and that I would not give it up for anything. She then asks if I could borrow the money from the bank, a friend or my father. I tell her no as she has told me not to tell anyone about our work, so not to jeopardize that I couldn't involve my family or friends. Mother Hope then asks me what I make every week, and what day I get paid. I tell her a way lower salary amount; she also wanted to know what I was paying for rent. At this point she tells me that I have to show the church my good intentions; so to go home and get my remote cordless telephone. I tell her I don't have one, and she sends me to the local KMART to get one.

Before I leave she comes out to the car and says I sense that we need a red or black phone. I went to KMART and bought the cheapest phone I could. I am sure that she was not pleased with the model I bought, but she said that the church thanks me for my kind donation. At this point she then tells me that I can make weekly installments, and that she would throw in her money and that I could pay her back. I did not agree to this as I changed the subject. She tells me that she may need to come back later that afternoon to meditate with her. I tell her that I have plans and that since this has to be kept a secret there was no was for me to come back.

She then tells me that she really needed a ride to the church where she does her work as her car was getting detailed that afternoon. She says that she wants to see me on Sunday. I tell her ok and I leave and she thanks me for the phone again. I get home and knowing I had just been scammed I search the internet and came upon this great website. Thanks again! A little broker, but a lot smarter than before. -- Veronica
